STEADFAST JUPITER IS OVER

Multinational CIMIC Group, as part of NATO Response Force 2022, tested techniques and procedures in a crisis scenario, training together with Altantic Alliance Commands

The NATO exercise, called “Steadfast Jupiter 21”, has been concluded with success. Multinational CIMIC Group was part of the theatre component commands and the unit contributed with ad hoc task organization builds up with the aim to guarantee all the functions related to the civil-military cooperation.
Sponsored by Supreme Headquarters Allied Power in Europe (SHAPE) and directed by the Joint Warfare Centre (JWC), Exercise Steadfast Jupiter 2021 (STJU21) was designed to train and evaluate the NATO Response Force 2022 (NRF22) under the lead of Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS).
The exercise consisted of all domain operations against a peer adversary based on a fictitious pre-Article 5 training scenario using a 360-degree approach, set in the High North region of Europe and the Baltic Sea Region.
Overall, Exercise Steadfast Jupiter 2021 was designed to challenge the training audiences at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels focusing on the challenges of deterrence in all domains, while presenting a timely opportunity to contribute to the concept for the Deterrence and Defence of the Euro-Atlantic Area (DDA) and the NATO Warfighting Capstone Concept (NWCC).
Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) operators were deployed in Brunssum (The Netherlands) and Stavanger (Norway), respectively the JFCBS HQ and the JWC HQ.
The Commander of the Multinational CIMIC Group, Colonel Mattia Zuzzi, actively took part in the exercise as leader of the exercised asset by participating in all phases of the battle rhythm from Motta di Livenza.
Furthermore, during the STJU21, Colonel Zuzzi reached the Joint Force Command of Brunssum where he had the opportunity to meet the Commander, General Jörg Vollmer, to discuss future projects and supports in the CIMIC area, as well as continue the exercise phase in loco.
